Camping in Big Bear - Oct. 5-7

We hadn't been camping for about 4 years, so when my friend Heather Stokes told me her and her family were gonna be going camping in Big Bear in a few weeks I decided it was time we took our kids on a campout too! So we joined them for a 3 day, 2 night stay at Serrano campground in Big Bear. We decided to take the more comfy route and bring the trailer. I was really glad we did when it got really cold at night and we needed a heater...I know, we're hardcore!!
During the day we took walks, bike rides, and went to the local museum and main street shops that weren't far away. And in the evening we made dinners over the fire, made smores, and talked. The kids had a blast playing with the Stokes' kids, they just love them. So much so that Drex and one of their daughters, Emily were practically inseperable. It really was cute, but almost alarming at the same time!! They kept holding hands and cuddling on the couch. Drex tells me she's his girlfriend, then again so does Quin though!!

It was a super fun trip and we can't wait to do it again! Thanks Stokes' family for letting us tag along, we love you guys!!

The amazing view

Getting settled in

As I was looking through the pictures when we got home I noticed that I had one of each of the kids making this same pose, I thought it was pretty funny!!

We shared a fire over at the Stokes' site

The kids had a great time playing this ball toss gameEven Libby's playing!

I hate to camp! So you rock! I used to work in Big Bear and definately miss the beautiful refuge there. Your kids are getting so big, LIZ! They're too cute! I'll try to recruit one of your sons in some time to take my girls to Prom... ;)
